TX9A DXPedition 2025

Welcome to the Austral 2025 pages.

Rolando (9A3MR – Team leader), Mladen, 9A2NA, Kristijan, 9A4WY, Livio, 9A7Y , Vlatko 9A9R and Zrinko (Zik), DK8ZZ / YT3ZZ will be active from Tubuai island, Austral Island (FO/A) between April 25th 2025 and May 7th 2025.

Flight tickets (Paris Orly – Papeete – Tubuai and back) as well as the place from where we will be QRV are booked.

We already apllied and received TX9A special call sign and it is accepted from ARRL DXCC Desk.

Our QTH is on the north part of the Tubuai Island, IOTA OC-152, QTH Locator BG56FP, well opened to Europe, USA and Japan. We have almost 5.000 sq. m² place to erect our antennas

As a low profile DXPedition team, we are taking all equipment with us, which means all our equipment and antennas has to be packed in bags suitable to take it into the plane (particulary Air Tahiti), which also means we have to booked some extra check-in luggage for Paris-Papeete flight.

As every DXPedition, we have our goals:

  • human modes as much as possible
  • a two TX QRV at the same time
  • 50 MHz monitoring
  • low bands: our plan is to use a GP antennas for 160, 80, 60m and 30m, as well as 4 square antenna for 40m. There is a chance to use BOG RX antenna, but it depends from our QTH.
  • higher bands: we will use a Hexbeam, as well as 3 el. DK7ZB design beam (17-15-12-10m home made) as well as 50 MHz Beam.
  • Internet connection, as well as electricity should be stable.
