We would like to inform you that OQRS on Clublog is open. LotW will be confirmed quickly (usually within 24 hours). Direct QSL cards will be sent when they are printed. The same applies to the bureau OQRS.

May 10th, 2025

Last night, part of the TX9A team arrived in Erbach, Germany, after a 27 hour trip from Papeete to Paris, as well as a 550 km drive from Paris to DL.
After sleeping at DK8ZZ’s QTH, the 9A team is on its way to Croatia by car (over 1,000 km).
All donors received QSO confirmation on LotW.
For everyone else, OQRS will be open tomorrow. Please do not send QSLs through the bureau, but use OQRS (buro QSLs are free of charge). This makes the QSL manager’s job much easier.
We want to once again thank everyone who helped us with their donations. Special thanks go to ACOM Bulgaria, whose Power Amplifiers worked for 12 days 24/7 without breaks or problems. 4O3A Filters helped us not to interfere with each other.
Although we know that we did not manage to do all those who called us, we would like to mention a few facts:

  • 500 QSOs on 160m, almost 300 EUs on 80m, 1500+ QSOs on 80m, dedicated work with EU in sunrise/sunset, fantastic openings on 50 MHz (1500+ QSOs, almost 400 QSOs in human mode). We tried to do human mode CW/SSB as much as possible.
TX9A thanks EVERYONE for their support, whether through donation, QSO, e-mail, or DX spot. Your positive feedback means a lot to us and gives us the energy to ask the famous question:
where do we go next? 🙂

May 7th, 2025

TX9A is officially QRT!

We decided to dismantle all antennas and prepare all baggage for the first leg to Papeete.

We would like to thank everyone who helped us make our wishes come true and activate Austral Islands. Thanks to everyone who made QSOs with us; special thanks to ACOM for the borrowed power amplifiers that worked flawlessly for 12 days continuously 24/7.

We also thank all sponsors (GDXF, EUDXF, MDXC, as well as all individual donors). High power BPF from 4O3A Solutions helped us to have nointerference.

Finally, we would like to thank our families who are understanding of this beautiful hobby. Last, but not least – where do we go next?

On behalf of the Team

May 4th, 2025

May the 4th be with you 🙂 The last two days we had a nice opening to Europe. 160m vertical (almost 500 Qs in the log) is switched to 80m and will be used in the next two days.

We are monitoring 50 MHz but when there is no condx, we are switching to HF.There will be a small excursion tomorrow (Monday). On Tuesday afternoon we are starting to dismantle all antennas, our flight to Papeete is on Wednesday morning.

The latest news:

TX9A will be on 160m for the next two nights (local schedule:Friday evening, Saturday complete night and Sunday morning) and after that will be back on 80m.
We had a huuuge pile up.on 50MHz towards Japan, even on SSB.
Please note, 160, 80 and 60m QSOs will be uploaded manually and they will not appear on Live stream (only if an operator export a log every 15 minutes or so).

Our team hopes for some better CONDX towards Europe and will try to spread all activities on all bands and modes.

Ia Ora Na (hello) and good morning from Tubuai Island.

Our team still has 5 days to go. Yesterday we had a nice opening on 50 MHz where we certainly pleased some HAMs from the USA with a new bandslot. All WE SOs with 80 and 60m are still inserted manually. Please try to avoid doing double links and give others a chance to do it for us. The plan is to be QRV at 160m over the weekend. More to come.

May 1st, 2025

TX9A team wishes everyone a Happy Labor Day, May 1st.
The team is still in good spirits. We have no technical problems so far; on 80m we have almost 200 stations from Europe. 160m will be tested this weekend. We have also been working stations all over the USA on 50 MHz, we will try to catch the opening towards Japan. Although the current CONDX is not great for the EU on 12m and 10m, we will try to do our best there too.
Note: logs from 80 and 60m FT8 do not go into the livestream but are inserted manually, so please be patient.

April 30th, 2025

Our team is still ready for new challenges. On 50 MHz there was good activity towards Central America and Brazil, we also worked stations from the USA.

We worked over 80 EU stations on 80m, and the plan to be active in the morning at 80m before our sunrise. Rain is expected for the next few days, and it is possible that we will sometimes have too much QRN. Our log is up to date on Clublog, with almost 9000 duplicate QSOs so the log will be sorted after the trip is over. Also, OQRS will be activated after sorting the Log.

April 29th, 2025

The team is in a good mood and everything is going according to plan. The 50 MHz antenna was raised and the first connections were made with -Central America (KP4, HI, ZF, XE, YS). We hope that we will be able to catch the opening on 50 MHz for Japan and the USA. Most likely, we will try 80m (not 160m as mentioned ) next night, check DX Cluster.

Although the internet at the location is solid, we had problems with the live stream, and it may happen that some QSOs are duplicated in the log. For statistics, the TX9A team has made about 25,000 QSOs so far.
We would like to thank all the donations that have arrived in the meantime, due to work we did not have time to thank everyone by name.

April 28th, 2025

TX9A Team is in good shape and we are closing to 20k QSOs. We noticed that some QSOs aren’t uploaded automatically (mostly 80 and 60m) but, all QSOs will be manually uploaded once a day.

We erected 80/160m Vertical and did some 80m QSOs.Finally, our team wishes a speedy recovery to the Adi S55M/W1ADI that had an accident in Bulgaria. We are with you, Adi!

Some news from the TX9A team:

1. All the equipment arrived with us safely. Layover in Papeete was good for us.

2. We have been QRV since yesterday at 14h local time, till now (12h local time) over 4.500 Qs.

3. Not all antennas are erected due to heavy rain and wind. Our Hexbeam, 3 el. beam (DK7ZB), 40m GP are already finished. Today we will finish 60/30m GP, 2 el. Moxon beam for upper bands, and probably 50 MHz 4 el. beam.160m/80m GP will be erected probably tomorrow. We will do our best to cover all bands and modes, even 160/80m which are not optimal bands in this time of the year.

April 20th, 2025

Final preparations are underway. The team will arrive in Germany in two days, where the equipment will be repacked, and on Wednesday the journey to Paris will continue (flight BF710 ORY-PPT). We would like to thank DK7PE and DK2CL for their help with the hardware, as well as S59ZZ for donation. We are looking forward to the new challenges ahead and hope that Murphy will not visit us among our stay in Tubuai. 🙂

Last, but not least, we want to thank our families and friends who support us on this long journey and activation.

March 4th, 2025

There are 50 days left until departure for Tubuai. ACOM company delivered Power amplifiers to us. A merchandise package (flag, caps, polo shirts) arrived with the equipment.
The TX9A team thanks ACOM for their cooperation and support.

February 12th, 2025

Our team is still in crawl preparations. Custom bags are ready and all antennas and poles will be transported in them. The DK7ZB beam antenna has been adjusted, and we especially thank non HAM Sergej from Slovenia who brought the pipes to Croatia by plane that we will use as a pole, as well as non HAM Anto (Germany), who got us 200m of wire. It’s nice to have friends who, even though they don’t do our hobby, are ready to help.

January 15th, 2025

The TX9A Team will be using 4O3A HP Bandpass Filters during their stay on Tubuai Island. The plan is to use filters for WARC bands as well, which will enable us to work smooth and simultaneously on two stations at the same time.

We would like to to thank to Ranko, 4O3A and his Team for their help. Such support means a lot to us and our team has no costs for using the High Power Bandpass Filters.

January 9th, 2025

The TX9A Team signed a support contract with ACOM Bulgaria. Our team will get two power amplifiers ACOM A1200S and one ACOM A500S for use. This is a great thing for us as a team and we are sure that ACOM products will help us reach our goal in the number of QSOs with Tubuai.

We would like to thank to ACOM Team for the truly HAMSPIRIT support.
Such support means a lot to us and our team has no costs for using the Power amplifier.

January 2nd/4th, 2025

110 days until the start of our adventure! Some news from our team: we paid for an additional luggage (which is not cheap) from Paris to Papeete, because we want to be sure that the equipment that is planned arrives with us in Papeete / Tubuai. We also want to thank Koaxshop, from whom we received a discount for the purchase of the Aircell 5 cable. Thanks, Andreas! Also, We are in final arrangements for the use of specific Power amplifiers, more to come.

Thanks to Mario DJ2MX, his son Sven DJ4MX (look for Sven and others from their V7 Marshall Islands DXPN in February 2025) and Janko, S57L for donation.

December 9th, 2024

Our team is growing up. Vlatko, 9A9R has joined us. Welcome to the TX9A Team!

We are sure that Vlatko will bring a quality and cheerful spirit to our team.

All poles and Hexbeam antenna are packed and ready to be shipped to Croatia. Rolando, 9A3MR will order bags that meet all airline baggage criteria with their dimensions.

November 16th, 2024

The second HF antenna is tested and works fine (Hexbeam 20m-6m). Our team Leader Rolando 9A3MR plays with software and our goal is that if the internet connection is solid, we upload the log to Clublog in real time.

Thanks to S58N for donation, as well as “Divas” company who will provide us a good quality t-shirts and jackets.

November 11th, 2024

Our team has started preparations. As we have already mentioned, this is a low profile DXPN and we carried all the equipment with us.The first pole is finished, the beam antenna is under construction, and last, but not least, Hexbeam was briefly disassembled to take the dimensions for the custom bag that we will make ourselves.

We also rely on GDXF and EUDXF for sponsorship as well as individual sponsors: KC3ZJU, OE6VIE, DF6PA and IT9EJW. Thanks!
